THE WORLD THROUGH DIFFERENT COLOURED GLASSES

Click to visit our commercial site that explains our service for design, repair and production of stained glass panels, windows and leaded lights.

On these pages we have presented our own photographs of a variety of glass, (none of which has been produced by us) which reflect our own preferences. There are a number of pieces from modest houses in London, as well as selections from Churches and Museums. Click on the 'thumbnail' picture on the right to bring up a larger image. The examples shown include some that are actually stained (painted), and others that use the colours inherent in the glasses, skilfully combined by the artists and craftsmen for their stunning effects.

We hope you enjoy them and find them a source of inspiration and ideas.

The gallery here is divided into the following sections:

  • Smith Museum, Chicago
The Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows is located on Chicago's Navy Pier - which is primarily a popular tourist venue. Keep on the right side of the pier as it stretches out into the lake and once you get past the stalls with T shirts, gew-gaws and popcorn you find this amazing collection of 150+ windows - including some amazing Tiffany's in their own pavilions, as well as Prairie School and many other styles. Its an absolute must see, and is in great contrast to the German Stained Glass Museum at Linnich (an S Bahn and cab ride out of Dusseldorf) - which really is quite disappointing unless you are heavily into architectural (rather than decorative) glass.
  • Churches, East Anglia, UK
  • Tuscan Churches, Italy
  • Churches, Southern England
  • Domestic Glass, London, UK
  • Musee d'Orsay, Paris, France
